SAN LUIS OBISPO AT 120 DEGREES

When the orange sun sat at its highest,

The cloudless blue sky was at its driest.

The hot black tar on road tops was slowly melting.

Dogs sticking to it were whimpering and yelping.

Many cars stalled when their radiators overheated.

Discomfort from heat exhaustion was deep-seated.

The excessive use of house air conditioners blew many a fuse,

And politicians claimed that all this was a hoax and fake news.

Science establishes that Man’s acts of pollution have caused Earth’s severe climate warmings,

That heat of 120 degrees is a signal of things to come for not heeding Mother Nature’s warnings.
