SEND IN THE CLOWNS

I love all the clowns and see them now on screen and on my T.V. as an oldster,

And I felt the same when I saw them on stages and at circuses as a youngster.

Their skills taught me the value of laughter, especially when I experienced some difficult times.

They made me laugh, morphing sadness into cheer, using funny puns and hilarious pantomimes.

They made laughter a perpetual contagion, not born out of any human disease.

And established for me that laughter is sadness' only real and natural antithesis.
