NO NEED TO CRY

Why do I rarely cry?

I think I know why.

It is a function born of my family’s history

And lives in me as an inherited empathy

Triggered by a good belly-laugh or smile

And impeding enmity, hatred, and bile

Uplifting the spirit and soul

To achieve that happy goal

Of living with others in a peaceful and harmonious life,

Which for me is enjoying it with friends, family, and wife.
