NATURE’S MUSIC

Yesterday I heard a bird sing.

It was a most effortless thing

Of chatty chirps, peeps, and resonating twitters,

Sounds of life that neither taints nor embitters.

It is music with a persistent swing and sway

In full harmony with the rhythms of the day.

It metronomically sets the beats and pulses of my heart,

Heralding in my hopes and expectations at my day’s start.
