BETWEEN DUSK AND DAWN

Dawn Time

My night sleep is now ended, and my dreaming is done.

I’ve gently been awakened in my bed by the rising sun.

Not by a loud cry, a shout or a bang on my window frame,

But by the red-yellow-orange sunbeams of an orb aflame.

Its heated and bright sunbeams are slowly burning the clouds away

And the shaded skies turn from grey to blue as they tout a new day.

Daytime

It is my awake time to be the who that I want to be.

To do all the things allowing me to fulfill my destiny.

Including to be active, to learn, to understand, to work and to grow.

To enjoy my family and friends, and to gain from reaping what I sow.

Being active in this way informs my experience and fills my life with a zest

In a daytime’s light which at dusk, dims as the sun gently sinks in the west.

Dusk Time

My Dusk’s light is lit by the Moon’s glow in its quarter, half or full moon phase.

Its soft yellow light is the sky’s luminary that the then darkness of night it allays.

It is my time to rest, to enjoy the peaceful silence, to contemplate truths and lies,

To tire, to fall asleep, to dream, to awake, to walk in the park before the dew dries.

To age slowly in and betwixt my life’s dawn and its dusk with a smile on my face,

Doing so by not sweating the small things in life and by living that life with grace.

And it’ll be then,

My Dawn again.
