THE PANDEMIC TIGHTROPE
I am not afraid nor naïve.
As I have come to believe
That the COVID-19 plague or Pandemic
If I follow the rules, won’t make me sick.
Though pessimists will let everyone know
Things will get worse before they get better.
The optimist opines that such may be so
But only if fear is allowed to act as an abettor.
Pessimism is a negativity born of a loss of hope.
A loss fed by ignorance and fear of the unknown.
Characteristics forcing Man to travel a tightrope,
Along which failure and downfall are readily sewn.
But if you have hope and look for the light
Your optimism will guide you through all uncertainty.
Your vision will be aided by an added insight
And you’ll walk along the Pandemic tightrope safely.
