TAX TIME

Today is the year-end of my deception.

Today is the roll call for my taxation.

It's time to pay for government spending

That outflow in life that is never-ending.

Millions of taxpayers are in a like state of moribund.

They're organizing their papers looking for a refund.

I will be looking to pay less taxes, if I find a deductible dependent

Who needs nothing, does everything, and pays under-the-table rent.

Failing that, I can simply feign being seriously ill,

And create a great deduction via my doctor's bill.

But here a government doctor's examination could be rough

Examining me, hands on genitalia, and asking me to cough.

My reality is that I would cough up and not cough,

Enjoy my good health again and forgo the rip-off.

I would not make a further or major production

Of finding and using a phony income deduction.

But then I thought some,

I'll hide part of my income.

I abandoned that thought as the worst idea of my life

After remembering that it never worked with my wife.

So here I will be for some of my life's saddest three days,

Working on UFILE Tax, the latest auto-fill-in-form craze,

Knowing that I will pay those income levies until death me relaxes,

When the government comes calling for payment of my death taxes.
