REBIRTHING EARTH

Man has polluted the waters and has cloud-thickened the sky,

Climate warmed and dirtied our world and kindled it lit.

Whilst in oceans, sickly fish swim, and in spaces, ailing birds fly.

Our lands suffer draught and torrents of rain that drown it.

The forest and its denizens are barbecued by wildfires raging out of control.

Hurricanes and tornadoes arrive frequently and often out of their season.

Burning forests, ghost-shrouded in smoke, float upward as fire takes its toll.

Yet, Man bemoans none of these as he sees personal benefit as its reason.

Man’s polluting activities are destroying our earth, waters, and air

And they are the source and catalyst of Man’s death and of earth’s demise,

A destructive correlation between the two, that causes world despair,

Heralding Coronavirus’ message that Man must clean up or everything dies.

Covid-19 has arrived in human lives as an airborne, lung invading, virus

And is a plague much more dangerous than the plagues of the biblical ten.

It surfaces as Man’s self-polluting infection, which is effectively killing us,

Forewarning of a last chance to have Earth reborn into a Garden of Eden.
